Effective date: 13/11/2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the sole trader who runs RooCheck (ABN 69 349 922 117), based in Queensland, Australia (“RooCheck”, “we”, “us”). They cover the RooCheck app, app.roocheck.com and roocheck.com (the “Service”).
Before you first use the app, you’ll be asked to tick a box and tap I agree. We keep a record of when you agreed and which version of these terms you agreed to. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. Safety comes first
RooCheck is an organisational memory aid, not certified mechanical or safety advice. The driver assumes all responsibility for verifying the legal roadworthiness and safety of their vehicle.
RooCheck helps you organise checks for your caravan or RV. It does not replace your manufacturer’s instructions, professional mechanical advice, or road and towing laws.
- The checklists are guides only. This includes manufacturer checklists, community lists and your own. Ticking every item doesn’t mean your vehicle is safe, roadworthy or legally compliant.
- Your manufacturer’s manual always comes first. If a checklist differs from it, follow the manual.
- “Approved by [manufacturer]” means that manufacturer confirmed that version of the checklist. It is still a guide, and later versions may not be approved.
- Community lists are written by other owners, not by RooCheck or the manufacturer. We check them for content, not for mechanical accuracy.
- You’re responsible for checking that your vehicle, caravan, trailer and everything on or in them is safely hitched, secured, loaded and maintained, and for following the law. This stays your responsibility even if an item is missing from a checklist, a checklist is wrong, or the app isn’t working.
2. Your account
- Give accurate details, keep your password private, and don’t share your account.
- You must be at least 16 to use RooCheck.
- Tell us at support@roocheck.com if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account page.
3. Your lists and photos
- What you create is yours. Your lists, notes and ticks are private unless you share them. We store them only to provide the Service to you.
- Photos you add stay on your phone. They are never uploaded to RooCheck. If you delete the app or lose your phone, its photos may be lost, so keep your own copies of anything important.
4. Sharing a copy by link
- Anyone with the link can read the shared copy, and your first name, for 7 days. Up to 5 people can add their own copy to their account.
- Your notes are included only if you choose. Only share links with people you trust, and you can stop sharing at any time.
- Copies people have already added become theirs.
5. Community lists
You can offer your lists to other owners of the same make and model. To do so, you must first agree to the Community Rules, which are part of these terms. In short:
- We check every list before anyone else sees it, and we may decline or remove any list at any time.
- There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We may block anyone who breaks the Community Rules from sharing, or suspend their account.
- Anyone can report a list from within the app. We review every report, and lists reported by several people are taken down until we’ve reviewed them again.
- Licence: you keep ownership of what you share. By sharing a list with the community, you give RooCheck a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, display, format and distribute it within the Service, and you let other users copy it into their accounts and use it. The licence for new copies ends when you stop sharing the list or delete it; copies already made remain with those users.
- Your shared lists are anonymous to other users. Don’t include your own or anyone else’s personal details.
6. Suggestions
If you suggest an item for a manufacturer checklist, or send other feedback, we may use it to improve RooCheck without paying you or naming you.
7. Paid features
RooCheck is currently free. If we add paid features:
- you’ll buy them through the App Store or Google Play;
- their payment, cancellation and refund rules apply;
- we’ll tell you the price before you buy.
8. Using RooCheck fairly
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use RooCheck to harm or harass anyone;
- try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or test, disrupt or overload the Service;
- copy or harvest content from the Service in bulk, or use automated tools to access it;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, except as the law allows.
9. The Service
We work to keep RooCheck running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when your phone has no signal. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever close the Service, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can.
10. Limitation of liability
Your consumer rights come first. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law that can’t be excluded. Everything else in this section applies only as far as the law allows.
- No promises beyond the law: the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will be accurate, complete, error-free or always available, and we exclude every warranty, condition and guarantee that these terms don’t state and the law allows us to exclude.
- Your vehicle and your trip: we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, fine or cost (including damage to any vehicle, caravan, trailer, awning, equipment, property or person) that arises from:
- using, relying on or not using any checklist, including a manufacturer, community or shared checklist;
- an item that is missing from, wrong in, or not ticked on a checklist;
- you or anyone else failing to check, secure, load, hitch, maintain or drive a vehicle properly, or failing to follow the manufacturer’s instructions or the law;
- content written by other users;
- the Service being unavailable, or losing or changing your data or photos.
- Indirect loss: we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, income, opportunity, enjoyment or data.
- Our limit: if we are liable to you despite the above, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of A$100 and the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
- Your share: our liability is reduced to the extent that you, or anyone using your account or travelling with you, caused or contributed to the loss.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify RooCheck (and to keep RooCheck indemnified) against any claim, loss, liability, cost or expense, including reasonable legal costs, arising from:
- your breach of these terms;
- content you share through the Service, such as share links and community lists;
- a claim by anyone else (for example a passenger, another road user or a property owner) relating to your vehicle, caravan or trip, or to how you used the Service.
This doesn’t apply to the extent the loss was caused by our own negligence, fraud or breach of these terms.
12. Ending your use
- You can stop using RooCheck and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Unless there’s a safety or legal reason not to, we’ll tell you why.
13. App store terms
These apply if you got RooCheck from the Apple App Store or Google Play:
- Who the agreement is with: these terms are between you and RooCheck only, not Apple or Google. RooCheck, not Apple or Google, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence: a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, as allowed by the store’s usage rules.
- Support: RooCheck alone provides maintenance and support. Apple and Google have no obligation to do so.
- Warranties: if the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Claims: RooCheck, not Apple, is responsible for any claims relating to the app, including:
- product liability;
- failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements;
- consumer protection, privacy or similar laws;
- claims that the app infringes someone else’s intellectual property.
- Export rules: you confirm you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Other services’ terms: you must also follow the terms of any other service you use with the app, such as your mobile or internet provider.
- Enforcement: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Changes to these terms
If we make important changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use RooCheck after that means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and we submit to the courts of Queensland.
